VIEW OF THE KÖNIGSSEE
EXIT MOUNTAIN STATION
From the Jenner summit, your gaze wanders over a world-famous natural beauty. The emerald-green Königssee, which is the subject of many legends. Like a fjord, it nestles between the impressive mountain cliffs. Over 8 kilometers long and 1.2 kilometers wide. With its boat trip and the famous pilgrimage church of St. Bartholomä. But beware, thanks to its depth of 192 meters, it is more than refreshing even in midsummer.
VIEW OF THE WATZMANN -FAMILY
ASCENT & EXIT MOUNTAIN STATION
The Watzmann is the most imposing mountain massif in the Berchtesgaden Alps and has been voted Germany’s most beautiful mountain several times due to its extraordinary shape. From the Jenner, you can see the Watzmann woman directly in front of you and the peaks of the Watzmann (2,713 m) behind it. In between are the smaller Watzmann children. The rugged, impressive and second-highest mountain in Germany feels close enough to touch.
THE “STEINERNE MEER”
The Steinerne Meer is an impressive karst plateau that stretches between the Watzmann, Königssee, Hagengebirge, Hochkönig and Hochkalter mountains. The largest mountain massif in the Berchtesgaden Alps looks like a huge body of water that has turned to stone, its waves wildly churning. Hence the name.
THE “HAGENGEBIRGE”
Yes, it still exists. An almost untouched patch of nature. It lies high above the Königssee. In the Hagengebirge. Here you can experience the unique mountain world up close and observe rare plants and animals such as chamois and ibex. Ambitious mountaineers will find fantastic trails and multi-day tours.
A good level of fitness, appropriate equipment and a mountain guide are recommended.
